Saturday — Catered breakfast, Marine obstacle course, Marine amphibious vehicles, sandcastle contest, beach soccer, ice cream truck
Saturday night — Guides Initiation Ceremony for new Bolts

Pro tip: Bring a tent, sleeping bag, layers for cool nights, sunscreen. Pop-up tents at Costco for $100 if you don’t have one. Each year we donate to the Semper Fi & America’s Fund — bring a donation if you can.
Trunk or Treat
After-school costume party! Pegasus dismisses early on this Friday and we set up decorated trunks in the parking lot — the kids trick-or-treat car to car.
Pizza party in the middle. Costumes for the kids and strongly encouraged for dads.
Pro tip: Pick a theme and decorate your trunk to match. Bring candy to hand out, and dress up yourself — the kids love seeing dads in costume.
Outdoor Adventure Camp
2 nights away with just the Bolts. Zipline, archery, climbing, hiking, campfires. Catered meals, cabin sleeping, hot showers, and the kind of long-weekend the boys will never forget. Pegasus is closed Friday and Monday Nov 6-9 for Parent Teacher Conferences — perfect timing.
SCHEDULE:
Friday afternoon — Arrive, cabin assignments, opening campfire
Saturday — Full day of activities: zipline, archery, hiking, climbing wall
Saturday evening — Group dinner, s’mores, stargazing
Sunday — Final activity, brunch, pack out

Mammoth Ski Trip
Three days and two nights at Mammoth, condos on the mountain, every level of skier welcome. The trip dads and kids talk about all year.
SCHEDULE:
Friday — Arrive, condo check-in, group welcome dinner
Saturday — Full ski day, group photo at the chair, dinner at the condos
Sunday — Half ski day, lunch on the mountain, head home

Pinewood Derby
Each kid builds a pinewood car from the kit (handed out in November). Dads help. Kids paint, weight, and decorate. On race day, the cars run head-to-head down the track until a champion is crowned.

Racing begins, bracket-style heats
Awards: Speed, Design, Most Likely to Catch Fire
Trophies, team photos
Pro tip: Show up early for tech inspection. Graphite on the axles is legal and fast. Practice runs at home help. Kit included in annual dues.
Bolt-X Rocket Launch
The Bolts’ STEM crown. The boys build real rockets — engines, fins, payload bays — and watch them fly. We launch at Lucerne Dry Lake in the Mojave Desert. We sent 20+ rockets up in 2026 - two have come back. The rest are still up there.
SCHEDULE:
Launch site setup, safety briefing, name your rocket
First launches (low-altitude class)
Round 2 launches + altitude challenges
Pack out, head home
Pro tip: Old clothes — the dry lake is dusty. Safety glasses provided. Weather-dependent for the launch; flight conditions confirmed the morning of. Rocket-assembly classes happen the weeks before — watch for dates.
BoltChella
Two nights at the Wandery Ranch in Indio — lazy river, pools, desert hike, fire pit, great food and music. We call it BoltChella because it lands the weekend before Coachella and we play the part.
